Any suggestions for ceremony readings for second wedding? We are getting married at a Methodist Church since they will marry us even though we are both divorced, as opposed to needing an annulment to get married in the Catholic church. Needless to say, my FI's mother is very religious, Catholic and goes to mass everyday. She has always complained when her grandchildren or other family got married by a JOP saying they don't have God in their lives anymore. He is one of 12 kids. The first thing she said when she read our invitation was "why are you getting married in a Methodist Church?" First of all, we are not getting annulments so obv we are not getting married in the Catholic church and second, don't you think she could just be happy we are getting married in a church as opposed to JOP that she complains about? We did consider a JOP but changed our minds. So, once again I like these boards because we all do what WE want, not try to make anyone happy. Thanks for listening to me vent!!
