Second Weddings

Me and my BFF did a trial run on my table sets...I am in the need for opinions!

Hello, and as usual I am tuning to all my newby Knotty friends for opinions....

Keep in mind, I took this photo with my camera phone and  not in a perfect setting....

Also;  the tables at the venue are ROUND, and there will also be the actual place settings, glassware, napkins all present also....

Description: silver tablecloths, white plate settings, with a royal blue napkin folded flat upon the plate with the silver favor box that will have a royal blue ribbon tied on it....sitting utop the napkin.....

the pilsners are filled with a blue water and there will be Silver floating candles in them.....each table will also have the folowing , which may be or may not be visible in this pic....

2 BLUE sapphire like gems......
Spray of Blue Ice sprinkled over the table
15-20 silver metal wedding rings amongst the blue ice
3 votives (each table has different ones)
1 slver 5x7 frame with a love poem
table number

i should have zoomed in.....and the 5x7 is actually on the other side hidden by a vase.....

OK, let the opinions roll in Smile

I like it Debi but I am thinking those Pilsners are too tall (or maybe its just the camera angle?).  Could a person see the person seated opposite?

I agree with Marrin...  I like it but if the pilsners are as tall as they seem I can see guests moving them off the table to talk.

Also another thought is actually sit a bread plate, dinner plate, flatware, coffee cups, wine and water glasses and take another look.  That will tell you if your centerpiece is too busy for the amount of service wear that will be dressing the table, also add space for the sugar boat and creamer.  It doesn't matter if the plates are exactly the same as the ones the caterer will use.  Just remember that they take a lot of space, more than one thinks.

    HTH :-)

Looks very nice, but I would have 2 concerns:
    1) As stated previously, can your guests see around the height of the pilsners? and
    2) If they're filled with water and that tall, aren't they at a greater chance of being tipped over?

Just some thoughts to consider, but Ithink your colors are gorgeous!

I like it but maybe change just a few things......I think I would ditch the silver rings & could you use blue candles in the votive cups?  Either way it's going to look very nice!!

I agree with Red....  Its nice to be able to see the guest sitting across from you, and I'd be concerned that the pilsners would tip....  An alternate to your idea are low, wide, circular bowls filled with blue water and floating candles.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.....

I totally am taking into account all concerns.....

It's funny, I took into account a lot of the same factors that were a concern of all of you also........The Height,  Ability of Tipping, and lastly the Table too crowded

I am actually going to the venue tomorrow for a tasteing ( I am so excited) and I am bringing one table of decorations with , me and the event coordinator  are going to do an actual mock with place settings and all......

The reason I want to do such tall centerpieces are, the room has 18" ceilings, and with low centerpieces, it just looks so empty.......and .I want a little height and color brought into the room......

MY major concern is people talking across the table....in my pic it looks like the vases are lined up in a row, but in actuality there is a decent space tween them.....so...me and my bff sat across from one anotherand we played musical chairs  and it actually worked out ok....someone may have to tilt an inch or two, but she didn't have a problem with it and ether did i....so, hopefully my guests will feel the same way.....

Tipping I don't see as a problem, they are pretty heavy, and we kinda bumped the table hard to see the effect and they were stable...BUT i was totally worried about that also.....

The venue where I am haveing the reception is actually furnishing all the pilsner vases, so......I kinda wanna make use of the FREEBIE...whenever I can.....

    OH as far as votives.......

I actually have three types, depending on the votive holder being used......when the actual votive shows, I ordered Blue ones.....then for the ones that don't show, I ordered long burning tealights with the metal case.....

then  have a cple candleabras that have glass candle holders and I ordered clear tea lights, because I am afraid the blue votives will be too tall....because  above those in particular are flowers....I don't want a fire starting   :)

As usual , I cannot thank you enough.....!!!!!

That is so cool that you're able to actually see what you're going to do at the venue!!
