Second Weddings

song for me (bride)and my son who is 12 and walking me down the aisle.

Ok, I am having a problem finding a song for me and my son to dance to at the reception. He has been my whole lifebefore I got engaged and I want to have a second special moment (the first being him giving me away~ok really he will be sharing me). So any suggestions would be great. My daughter is actually singing my first dance song (she is 11). I will need lots of tissues on this day.

We danced with the kids to Mark Harris, "Find Your Wings".  He's a Christian singer - which is not the usual genre of music I listen to.  The lyrics are beautiful.  ~Donnahttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knm492yxMfo Mark Harris - Find Your WingsFrom the album The Line Between The Two It's only for a moment you are mine to hold The plans that heaven has for youWill all too soon unfold So many different prayers I'll prayFor all that you might do But most of all I'll want to know You're walking in the truth And If I never told you I want you to knowAs I watch you growChorus:I pray that God would fill your heart with dreamsAnd that faith gives you the courageTo dare to do great thingsI'm here for you whatever this life bringsSo let my love give you rootsAnd help you find your wings May passion be the wind That leads you through your days And may conviction keep you strongGuide you on your way May there be many momentsThat make your life so sweet Oh, but more than memoriesChorus:It's not living if you don't reach for the sky I'll have tears as you take off But I'll cheer as you fly Chorus:

I am doing the same thing! My son will be walking me down, and then we will also be doing a dance. He will only be 4 at the time of the wedding so we are going to do something fun and upbeat because he loves to dance!! I agree there are going to be lots of tears on this day for me as well!

Blueyes122299 that is so sweet, 4yrs old. My children and myself had been alone for so long that this is going to be a really special day. Howeverthis has been a bit hard on my son who thought that he was the "man" of the house before i got engaged. I think that I have come up with a good song for he and I to dance to, "Have I told you latley that I love you." by Rod Stewart.

Yeah I agree, I think you need something that's going to make him feel just as special as you do on that day so he knows your not leaving him out in anyway, your just starting a new chapter for all of you!! Good Luck, can't wait to hear how it turns out!!

AS by Stevie Wonder, I am having my 15 year old son sing that as our wedding song, it is soooo beautiful and its got rhythm--kids nowadays need to "get down wit it" lol--and besides mom can show the kid how "hip" she can be ;) good luck finding a good one! and BEST Wishes!!!

hi all, actually i am having my FI son walk me down the isle and I will be dancing with my father. We've been together for so long that I feel like I am his mother. (we have a daughter together who will be the flower girl). I wanted to do something special for him. I'm not doing a special song though. We are also mentioning the children in our vows. More of a joining of a family kind of thing.

hi Just read this post.  Your son is twelve and my have his own music he likes.  Ask him to pick and then you o.k. He may surprise you, I think that way it is he that is dancing with you, and not you dancing with him.  Also, he will remember it was his song.  Just a suggestion.  Have fun and great remembers.

My 11 year old son will be walking me down the aisle.  We will be dancing to "You are the sunshine of my life" by Stevie Wonder.  Im sure im going to cry both when he walks me down the aisle and when we dance.  He really has been my sunshine since the day he was born.
