Reception sites

I am in need of some ideas for a dallas reception site. I don't mind if its laid back, but the extra charges on everything including alochol and food are killing me. Any ideas?

How many people? Are you looking for DIY (where you bring everything in: tables/chairs/decor/food) or something where they have everything there? Indoor or outdoor?

OP was asking about Dallas reception sites but all of the Knottie's posts were asking her for more info like guest size, location, DIY, etc.  This place is whack.

You mean like tax and service charges?

Or do you mean like "You have to use our carts to bring in your stuff and we're going to charge you $100 an hour per cart and there's a required 12 hour minimum"? 

Not kidding.  A major, newish hotel in Grapevine told us that the florist we use had to use the hotels carts to bring in flowers and they were going to charge us.  They were also going to charge $250 an hour for the cherry picker (to hang stuff) and we had to buy a minimum of two hours.

I'm getting married at Winfrey Point in Dallas. It's pretty much a blank slate but it's REALLY affordable. They charge a $400 deposit if you have alcohol, but it's refunded three days after the event if nothing's damaged. The problem with Winfrey Point is it books SUPER fast, but my wedding's in September and I booked it this month so you might get lucky!
