Bakery went out of business... you take the cake?

So my parents were recently married and the bakery they used was called "you take the cake" and I believe it was in Arlington, TX. ( I am pretty positive it was in Arlington or ft.worth area )

They were supposed to make my parents another cake top tier for their anniversary but they went out of business before my parents had a chance to get it :(

Anyway, have any of you ever heard of this bakery?
(I know its a long shot but) I have been doing some research to try to find the owner so I could email them but haven't had much luck.

I just wanted to see if it was possible to get another one, I am getting married soon and I wanted to give it to them as a gift because they have helped so much with my wedding planning, I just thought it would be really cool Smile

Thanks!

  • I've never heard of them.  Can you afford to have your cake baker make a top tier for them?  Maybe if you explain the circumstances, they might be willing to work out a deal for you.
  • That is an amazing idea Smile

    Thanks so much!!

I googled and found this info. You may have already gotten this far, but if not maybe you could try calling their old phone number and/or driving by their old store?

  • You may have some luck using the Texas Secretary of State's SOSDirect website.  As an attorney, when I have to track down a defunct company, often the best place to start is this website.  For a small fee (either $1 or $5 per search) you can search online records for Texas business entities and get access to registered agent information, information on any parterners, incorporators, etc.  These people can often lead you to who you need to speak to, especially for small businesses and may be able to help you get in touch with whomever baked your parents' cake.  This will only work if the company has actually filed paperwork to be a corporation, an LLC, a partnership, or the like.

Here's the website if you'd like to check it out.
