Should we just sign the papers and forgo the wedding?

We're both getting married for the second time and we were wondering if we should just sign the documents and not do anything wedding-ish?
No photos, no fancy clothes, no guests, no food, etc.?
Does anyone regret not having photos or a memorable day?

From the tone of your post, I get a real poor-me kind of vibe.  Like you secretly WANT to have all the wedding hoopla, but feel like you don't deserve it.  Because the brides who really don't want it come one here with the..."this is how we're going to do it because it is what we want" vibe playing. 
So, based on that:
(1) read the It's Normal post. 
(2) drop the sackcloth and ashes routine
(3) get happy & excited about getting married
(4) plan a kick-a$$ party to share your joy.

Whatever you choose to have, can afford to pay for, and makes your heart(s) sing --DO eeet!   And hold your head up high, know that you both deserve what you are having, and have fun with it.

Thank you all for your advice:) I guess I meant "not memorable" just because it seems so legal or pragmatic just for us to sign papers.

I definitely agree with everyone on taking photos. My first wedding photos all got thrown out accidentally (ex dumped a box that had a couple newspapers put on top thinking it was all to go in the trash Fate I guess.) and that was the biggest bummer for me. 

I am actually hiring a photographer this time. For two big reasons: 1) I want to show our kids, future DIL's (I have all boys), and grandkids. 2) I want the photos so I can look back on how great and young we look right now. lol.

I understand what you are saying about the "memorable" day. It seems like if you do not go with all the bells and whistles it will seem "less" somehow. It will be memorable for the two of you though, because of its meaning.

I don't really have a "vision" for the day, small or big. I am glad that all of you have suggested to take photos and your reasons why. I wasn't sure if we decided not to go with photos if we would regret it... It seems most of you agree you would.

I'm having a destination wedding, so it's a bit more formal and planned out, but we're not doing any decorations, we're not having guests, and my dress will be pretty simple- like a dress I wore to a friend's formal wedding. My FI is wearing a white linen shirt and linen shorts- not fancy at all. However, one thing I did do was hire a photographer. I spent almost $10K on photography for my first wedding and obviously the pictures are no longer of use to anyone, but I just couldn't imagine forgoing pictures even if it was a second time. I'm not spending quite as much, but they will be just as, if not more, special

Have you checked out the Real Simple Weddings magazine?  I loved browsing that for ideas and inspiration while planning.  As well, I enjoyed looking at weddings on the <a href="http://www.stylemepretty.com" rel="nofollow">www.stylemepretty.com</a> website.  You might see something that strikes a chord with you.  And yes, whatever you do, have photos taken.  Enjoy!
