Second Weddings

Oh good grief!

H and I are going to an out of town wedding this week end for my best friend's son (who is also like a son to me as well since he and my son have been friends since before kindergarten).

Anywho, H has been having troubles with hamstrings etc and he's only been getting a little better.  I, myself, whacked out lower back picking up cat litter on Saturday night.  So we've both been gimping around.  Today I started to feel better, but I went downstairs, bent over the dryer, and sneezed - back to Square One.

Problem #2 - could not find a dress I've been pleased with so I'm wearing some old rag from my closet and feel horrible about it but it fits and looks halfway decent so I guess I shouldn't call it an old rag.

Problem #3 - colored my own hair and forehead this morning.  Way too dark.  So now with too dark hair and too pale face, I will look like a zombie.  My tan from Florida two weeks ago is long gone.  Back to looking like Morticia and even more so with the hair too dark.  I don't get it - same color I always use.  Hopefully, it'll fade from the forehead before Friday LOL

Make me feel better Undecided or at least tell me to Suck It Up!

LOL Marrin. I'm sorry you are having so many troubles.

I myself was stuck with burgundy hair for months before I sucked it up and paid to get rid of it..........this was temporary haircolor, no less, supposed to wash out after 20 washes.........nope. I was washing my hair twice a day, with DISH DETERGENT to try to get rid of it. Never even faded!

So I'd say black hair is a bit better than "not found in nature" burgundy.

Use a cleaner with granules for the forehead, like a facial scrub. That should help.

I'm sure you will have a great time at the wedding, which will make you feel better

Marrin another way to get the color off the forehead is to use Clorox Clean up wipes.  It works, a training salon that I went to used them on me and other clients to clean up mishaps.

Back pain and hamstring pain - both terrible.  I feel for you there. Time and not over doing it will help.

Oh dear!  Well toothpaste will take off the dyed forehead colors (sadly I know this from experience!), and my hair stylist has colored my hair more than once in a week. I colored it and didn't like it and she colored over it...and it didn't fall out!

I'm sorry to hear about your back.  Hopefully plenty of Advil will take care of it, so that you can manage to get through the weekend.  I'm sure the dress you pulled out of your closet looks lovely on you...otherwise you probably would never have bought it!

    Positive vibes coming your way...

I've done back to back hair coloring and my hair never fell out.

Sneezing while bent over is the WORST!

OMG.  Can I use this in my stand up act?  I hate to laugh, but the way you phrased it is GREAT.

BTW, I think Morticia was beautiful.  Seriously.  I always wanted to look like that when I was a kid.  I was a goth before they were popular.  And I actually WAS a punk rocker in the late 70s, before it was 'in."

On my honeymoon I bent over and sneezed and busted an ear drum.  We had been scuba diving the day before, so I still had water in my ears. Dang, that sucked.  Can't even imagine the back thing.

You're gonna look great at the wedding--you're being hypercritical of yourself, like all women are.  Feel better!

I've definitely dyed over dye without too much trouble.  If you're worried about it, have a professional do it.

I also have terrible back issues. :(  Tiger Balm can be a lifesaver if it's a muscle sprain.  I hope you feel better for the wedding!

What's wrong with Morticia??? I think she is gorgeous, classy and asolutely feminine and sophisticated!!! On top of it, you will be different of the tanned people...just think aout the positive aspects.

Hair: there are things that just a professional can do and one of them is to correct a wrong hair color. go for it, Better be safe than sorry.

Wedding outfit: wear it with a different accessory like a shawl or a beautiful
necklace set; this along a beautiful make up and hair, will make you just as great as it was a brand new dress.

Back pain: look in the internet for some exercises that you can do on your bed and you'd be amazed of how much they can improve your pain.
And keep yourself out of more trouble!!!Kiss

My life has shown some improvement.

I noticed some interesting hi-lites in the hair once I got over the horror - so the hair and I are square.

My co-worker came to the rescue with a cute shawl and accessories for my plain dress.

Back has been getting better and stronger as the afternoon wore on.

Forehead is no longer black - I used alcohol wipes

And my son aced his spring semester and is pulling A's!

PS Hand - you can use any part of my life as you see fit for your comedy act.  Much of it qualifies........

Yikes, I feel you on the back pain... I've also had trouble colouring my hair in the past too. I bought a hair colour that was SUPPOSED to be an auburn brown, and when I used it, my hair turned BRIGHT ORANGE, like the colour of the fruit, lol. I literally didn't have the cash to get a pro to fix it, so I had to walk around looking like an idiot with bright orange hair lol. Glad you came to peace with everything though :)

Marrin - glad to hear you are ok with the hair and things are improving.  You will be gorgeous for the wedding with the borrowed accessories.  Have fun at the wedding.  Hope the bodies heel quickly.

Glad to hear that the forehead is no longer dyed, that you and the hair have come to terms, and that you have a great co-worker who helped with the dress issue!  I'm glad things are working out!!

You will look lovely for the wedding!

Aye carumba!  Back pain is worse this morning!  I have an appt with doc this afternoon.  Last night I was feeling almost normal but this morning I could barely crawl from the bed.  So being smart the way I am, I decided that a nice hot bath would not go amiss, plus I had to deforest my legs and I thought it'd be easier to do that in the tub than to bend over in the shower.  Can I just say that luckily H showed up unexpectedly?  He had to help me from the bathtub.  Now he must bleach the image from his brain.  I DID however get the legs shaved!

[QUOTE]Vent away. THat's why we're here. I had a WEIRD experience at the hair salon a month ago. The top of my head turned blonde.  Stylist had to go almost to black to get it to take. I have no idea why that happened.

Hormones maybe?  I use the same brand/same color and this time it just got SO dark!

Oh, I'm so sorry about your back! :(

I've had similar bathtubs incidents.  It really does stink.  I hope they're able to isolate your pain to either being muscle or disc related.  That really seems to be the key in treating it. I've been dealing with 3 herniated, degenerative disks since I was 20.  I swear I've had every kind of back pain imaginable, and the only type of doctor that has been truly helpful in preventing flare-ups and treating them effectively is my physiatrist. He has been amazing.  If this turns into a chronic problem (and I really hope it doesn't), I can't recommend some kind of physical medicine specialist enough.

I can go on and on about what I've learned in dealing with my own crappy back, but I think that lots of these kinds of problems are really individual in nature and what works for one person doesn't work for another.

I hope your appt went well and that you're feeling better soon!

Been getting relief via treatments from my DC.  Will have one more tomorrow AM before we hit the road to wedding in Springfield.  My best friend (mother of tomorrow's groom) sprained her ankle severely last week and she has these gorgeous shoes to wear with her goregous dress, but her ankle is wrapped again because swelling is not going down so her doctor keeps wrapping it the correct way.  So it'll be the two of us sitting there while everyone else does the electric cha-cha or whatever it's called.

Sheesh, woman!  Take it easy on yourself.  Please, breathe and relax.  I really think that will help.  I'm not an expert on back pain -- my typical "cure" is a combo of deep stretching and Icy Hot patches (like crack for my back!).  I cannot take any OTC pain relievers, so that's about it.

Good luck.  Be careful.  Have fun!
