Update to Dress Saga

Well as of this posting I  have been removed from the private FB group, and my log-in for the site no longer works.  So now I will tell you the vendor I had issues with it was Mon Cheri Bridals.

They will give me a letter on Monday releasing me from my obligation to them.  As for making the gown right they have no intention of doing anything about it.

So as a warning to all brides-to-be do not enter their contest and expect to be treated fairly or professionally.

ETA:  Whoa... they completely removed me from the site - aren't they an equitable lot?

Wow - nothing like being treated like crap by a major company is there?

On the bright side - you have your wedding dress.  Was the seamtress able to fix it for you?

The more important issue: Is the gown ok for you????? If it is chalk it up to experience.

I had a horrible experience with the internet vendor that made my first dress. I sued her in court, won my case, but she will never pay me. I was furious for a long time but finally I just had to let it go.

I have a very knowledgeable seamstress and I'm confident that she will be able to make the gown right.

Hopefully the letter will release me from the agreement and state that I owe nothing for the gown.  I asked that it be emailed to me today since they pulled my profile and posts.

My FI and I have already decided to chalk it up to experience.

ETA:  I have been officially released from my obligation to It's a Bride's Life.

Definitely what alphabride said!  Please post us some pics of your dress when it is ready - even if they are teaser pics.

Also, I love how apparently in order to fulfill your end of the "agreement" you only could write things that they like, aka, glowing praise for an item whether or not it was a legitimately good item or not. That makes me think they're shady anyway. I can understand paying for advertisements and such, but paying brides to say what they want the consumers to hear? Ouch! I mean, what did they expect you to say about a dress that you have to take to a seamstress in order to fix upon arrival? Sheesh.

I am so glad this is almost over for you.  What a headache!!!!!!!!!!!!  And I can't believe what jerks they've been.  I'm really glad you have someone that can fix the dress for you the way you want.  I really can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done.  Now onto the rest of the planning.

Sue-n-Kevin - they are a real piece of work, the constraints on the brides-to-be is ridiculous.  Everything is supposed to be happy, happy, joy, joy and that isn't how real wedding planning is... They want each post to be mini ads for everything bridal... they only want positive vendor reports... it was bad.  I wasn't going to lie for them, and the communication from them was horrible at best...

At least now I can make whatever changes I want to the gown, because it doesn't have to be photographed for their site.

Ang - glad it's over but hun I think I would have taken scissors to that dress by now!  You're way more patient than I would have been.  Post pics when seamstress has a go at it (with real scissors ;) and the knowledge to back them scissors up!

Marrin - I had threatened to put the gown in the neighbor's burn barrel - luckily it was with the seamstress....

I go in for a fitting on the 20th if I take the kid with me I will have her take some pictures.

Glad this is over. Motto: "Nothing in Life is Free".

The cost of the seamstress and your stress and anxiety cost you more than you probably would have paid financially. This is why I NEVER entered any bridal contests to "win" something. It's a racket, and these brides who come on the boards saying "vote for me on XYZ", I don't even tell them what fools they are.

    But YOU can!

If in the real world wedding planning equaled happy, happy, joy, joy, then there would not be a show called "Bridezillas", now would there?

Remember what one retailer said in their ads - " We dont live anywhere near Perfect............."
