I've been reading this message board for a couple of days and thought that I would introduce myself. This will be mine and my fiance's second wedding. I LOVE the normal sticky! I honestly thought that I would NEVER get married again (first one left a VERY bad taste in my mouth), but when you find that one miraculous person who is everything you've dreamed of and more, you don't let that go!
We just got engaged on 1/6/12 and are having our small wedding (less than 30 guests) on 7/21/12. I plan to DIY most of it, probably even food. We have found our non-denominational officiant and I just ordered my custom-made dress! I now feel like I'm getting married! We're not doing very many traditional wedding things: we'll have a MOH and BM, with some of the children in our lives participating, along with our dog; simple beach ceremony followed by an extremely informal party at our not-yet-purchased new house. Friends and family will be doing the photographing and video-taping, no dj or band- just a fun pool party with the people closest to us. We're hoping to get it all done for $3000 or less.
The next 6 months are going to be very stressful and exciting at the same time- I am in my last semester of school in which I will be interning full-time; we are actively searching for a house to buy; and now planning a wedding! Luckily, my fiance and I work very well together and rarely even get into a disagreement, so that should make it A LOT easier on stress levels.
