Etiquette Gurus Please Help

Hello Ladies,

So the FI and I are getting ready to begin searching for the correct secular formal verbiage for our invitations and want them to be more "formal" than not, so we are forgoing the RSVP cards and forcing our guests to either write a formal reply or contact us in a suitable format.

Here's where I need help what is the most formal verbiage that should be used in the body of the invitation?

I know that R.S.V.P goes in the left hand corner, and Martha Stewart says you can give a hint beyond your invitation to the formality of your event in the right hand corner.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This link has a diagram that might help.

You might wish to use "white-tie" verbage if your event is that formal and you expect your guests in white tie & tails.

Also try the etiquette board - they have quite a few formal occasions over there and may have specific verbage suggestions...Good Luck!
