Hello,
Wanted to quit the "lurking" and introduce myself.  I recently became engaged to the sweetest guy.  It is a second marriage for me and a first marriage for him.  Yes girls, the boy made it 52 years as a bachelor!  We are planning a July 4, 2012 wedding at Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay, NY. 

Hope you do not mind that I pick your brains for thoughts and opinions.  The group on this forum seems down to earth and very, very nice!  Looking forward to working through the details!

    Boldt Castle?  You need to read the MIL post above - "No one gets married in a castle unless they own it"

    Wow, thanks all....it is nice to be welcomed.  And yes, while sometimes most of the things that come out of my mouth will be nice, I have been know to say not so nice things so keep that chair open for me shytownkelly!  I saw the castle post but did not read it...I will have to go back!

    Wedding at Boldt Castle, logistics of getting the guest to the island and back are fun to work out on a holiday where boat traffic is horrible.  Reception is still undecided although we have booked a 6 bedroom house (Victorian, very nice on the River) for my OOT sisters to stay at for the week of the wedding!  Owner of said house is wonderful and offered it to be used in addition as a reception site if we want!  Best part of day will be watching the fireworks at the end of reception with 60 of my favorite people!
