Lodging Question - Opinions Please

We just received a bid yesterday for lodging that would be $35.00 Friday, Saturday nights and $32.00 for Sunday night.  It's a 2 star Inn, but is realitively new, the reviews are great and it's conveniently located.  We have a few guests that are struggling and this would be a godsend for them...

The only thing is a lot of our guests are staying at a 4 star Inn but it's almost 4 times the money - do you think our guests staying at the 2 star Inn would feel bad if they visited those at the 4 star? Or would it matter?

It doesn't matter to us where people stay as long as they are able to rest in between all the activities and enjoy themselves.

I'd be all about the cheaper accommodations since they are new & clean, esp if I were only staying the one night.  Maybe if H and I were going to make the weekend a get-a-way for ourselves as well as going to your wedding, I'd probably upgrade to the 4 star.  But for the one night - $35 sounds good to me.

We went to a NYE reception and paid $72 for a room we spent approx 8 hours in.

If I were invited, I would stay in the 2 star inn and visit the people in the 4 star inn and use their amenities, LOL!  I think a choice is good.  ~Donna

To be honest, if I were a guest I would prefer to have an option between the two, and would probably opt for the cheaper one because i'm poor lol. I don't think anyone will mind.

It's thoughtful of you to wonder this, but honestly, if your mailing includes both, with the prices, people will choose what works for them.

I don't think it matters.  People who pay $35/night know they're not staying at the Ritz.  Do NOT worry about it.  At all.

I'd appreciate having the choice to stay in the lower priced hotel!!! If just for a few nights and people have other travel expenses they will appreciate having the option.

I agree with pp's.  Giving your guests choices lets them decide what works for them, and having a choice is always nice.  If they only had the one choice of the 4 star, then they would be on their own searching for lower cost accomodations.

I agree with PPs - offer your guests both choices.

With the economy being what it is, your guests will be relieved to know they have options of a less expensive place to stay.
