Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the boards!!

Absolutely!  You can do what you'd like, within the realms of good etiquette, that is within your budget.  If you want small, intimate gathering or a large celebration for 250, it's up to you...and your budget.

When's your wedding - we like details!

    Happy planning!

    Congratulations and welcome.

Either is fine as pp stated.  Do what the two of you want.  That's what is important.

Welcome & congrats! Everyone has said what I'd say, do what you want within your budget. If you can't afford what you want now, put it off until you can.

I agree with everyone else. Do it your way. This will be my 2nd and also FI's 2nd. We had to put it off till next year but we are doing it our way. Thats what every bride should do.

thanks!! I'm hoping for Dec/ Jan time, but we are both deployed, and won't be back until July. It depends on how much I can do online & I will be in a different state for most of the time when we get back to the states also. thanks again for all the input
