Second Wedding in Spain

Well, I am crazily looking for a dress for my wedding in Madrid Spain in February.  I am an older plus size bride needing a cathedral style (and long sleeves) wedding dress for an elegant venue.  Seen a number of styles online but concerned about not having a fitting in a salon.  Second wedding for both of us but my fiancee wants a large affair due to his business connections.  Have chosen blue, white and silver for a winter look so we are making progress.  Just wondering if there are other older brides out there facing the same issues in finding a dress??  Any suggestions?

Congrats.  I don't recall seeing many dresses with long sleeves but I have seen some very pretty bolero's or other cover ups that you could add.  Good luck.

Spain - how fabulous! I am a little on the plus side, and i ordered online, but mine is much more casual. I think if i needed a cathedral style gown, i'd probably have to see it in person. I think a road trip to a great salon is in order. When you call to set your appointment also tell them a bit about yourself so that they are prepared to help your unique situation.

Or if you do order online, order a little larger and find a wonderful seamstress in your area. You don't have to have a salon to have a well-fitted dress. Just make sure you find someone experienced with wedding gowns.

oh and your color scheme sounds lovely.

NotaFlybyGirll - Congratulations!! I bet your Spain wedding will be lovely, and I love your color scheme (we're navy blue and white).  I was looking for a gown with sleeves and haven't had any luck, but as previous posters have said there are beautiful boleros and jackets that will make any gown more church appropriate.

Ps: Don't worry about being an "older" bride and going to a salon, if you venture into one where the staff is at all rude - leave they don't need your money and you don't need to waste any emotion on them.
