Tuxes

Just wondering if anyone has researched tux prices.  I didn't know if the prices are generally all the same or if it was more or less expensive to go to Men's wearhouse as opposed to the local Deluxe Tux Shop?  Any comments or suggestions will be helpful as we need to go this week anyway.  Thanks ladies!!!

You may want to ask on your local since I'm not sure if prices differ a lot from area to area. DH didn't wear a tux for our wedding, but I know rentals don't vary too much in my area but if you're looking to buy, it's all over the map.

I think the prices at Mens Warehouse are pretty much the same.  I have GM that are out of state and the only difference in what they paid vs the ones that live here is the sales tax.

Just to throw a number out - all of the tuxes in our wedding party ran right around $200 each.  That included shoes and the vest.

My FI bought his tuxedo at Men's Wearhouse because they were having a great sale and he didn't like the one they offered as a rental in the style we liked.  Two or three of his groomsmen will probably need to rent theirs but it shouldn't be more than $200.00 including their vests and bow ties.

I think ours were about $180 at Men's Warehouse, including shoes and accessories.  The advantage of using them is that any OOT GM can go to their local store to get fitted, then pick it up wherever you live for the wedding.

I have not.  My fiance plans to buy his tux and I will buy the tux my son (my best man) wears.  Since our wedding isn't until July, FI is checking out sales/specials.  The Nordstrom men's sale is right after Christmas, so I imagine he'll look then as well.  If you're renting ... I have no idea.

Why buy instead of rent?  It will be more cost efficient to buy my son's tux, as he will be rolling out of prom season (last spring he went to three) and right into our wedding.  Renting 3 tuxes last year was the biggest mistake EVER.  Lesson learned?  Never rely on a teenager's prediction of his social calendar.  Just buy a doggone tux and be done with it.  Ha!
