My son surprised me this afternoon....

So in the midst of all the wedding plans, my son and his wife came over today and told me that I was going to be a grandmother.  I don't know how to feel.  I'm excited for them and I think it will take some time to set in.  I was thinking I had at least a good year or so ( although they weren't planning on it for a few years ).  They just got married in March  At least I'll be a young grandma. 

Anyway, I guess we'll have another busy year.  How exciting....:)

Congratulations! You are going to love it! My daughter just had my first grandchild this past December. When she told me I was not too thrilled to be honest.
She had just gotten married 3months before and had moved from MI to NC with her Marine husband. Who I may add was set to be deployed in the near future.

I guess mainly I was just worried. As time went on I couldn't wait for that baby to  be born and was super excited. My daugther's husband did deploy 3 weeks after our little Jacob was born but he is due to come home soon!

It has been tough being a long distance grandma but I love it none the less. These last months have been unbelievable. And, although I don't see that baby half enough my daughter keeps me involved with phone calls and video updates of all his milestones. Enjoy!!

Thank you so much, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it, but, I'm really excited.  I've heard from other women in the past that there is nothing like being a grandma.  So different from being a mother.  I'm lucky in the fact that my son lives only about 15 minutes away and although he is in the Air Force, for the time being he will probably be staying close to home.  This is a whole new phase of my life and I'm looking forward to watching my son go from being a typical young guy to a daddy.  We all have a lot to be thankful for and congratulations on your grandson, hopefully, you'll get to visit soon and hold him in your arms.

Congrats Erin! I just became a "soon-to-be step grandma" last Thursday. While it was exciting, fiance's daughter is only 17, so there are MANY issues there. We are supporting her emotionally and helping her learn how to be a Mom though,which is nice.

Congrats on becoming a grandma!! It is wonderful, I have a 4 year-old granddaughter and really enjoy getting to spend time with her. I hear you on the trying to wrap your brain around it. It takes a while for it to settle in.

Thanks Ladies, I still have time to get used to the idea.  I think possibly when the baby is old enough to say Nanna it may feel like it.  LOL. 

After living in He.. for 24 years, I finally have the life I've alway's dreamed of. Lots of new beginnings this year and the years to come.  I'm very blessed......;)
