    Dear Knotties,

Hi! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and not too many delays. The white Christmas was awesome and I wish I had been around more to play in it and see it but we had to go to his mom's house for Christmas out in East Texas where they got squat. But I got to shoot some guns so I guess that makes up for it a little bit. I guess...

    Dear Chicago Bears,
Seriously, congrats on beating Minnesota last night.  Great game.  The only person who predicted you would win, was your old coach Mike Ditka.  Way to pull it out!  I love it when the underdog wins.

    Dear Self,
What is up?  You just got this gym membership two weeks ago and you've gone like 3 times.  Get your crap together and just go!  Stop making excuses.  Yeah, it's cold outside, but it's not cold in the gym.  Get off your lazy a$$!
    -me.

    Dear mom,
If you want to know why I don't call you, maybe it's because you never call me.  Or maybe  because instead of calling me, asking me personally, to pick up laundry you left at the cleaners, you messaged me on facebook!  Seriously, I'm your daughter, not a "friend" on facebook-pick up the phone.  Also, maybe you could make more of an effort to fix all the years that you weren't there for me and it would benefit you not to expect that I'd just forget about all those years at the drop of a hat.
    -your frustrated daughter.

    Dear TK,

I miss the days that the "post of the day" had 50+ responses.   It is boring now thanks to your format.

Dear Guy Who is Buying my Car,

You rock!   This is going to be about $500 a month in savings between payment and insurance that I no longer have to pay on a car that I love, but never drive.   Wooohoo.

Dear knotties that are braving the crappy format-

please help! I am a little over 2.5 months out from the wedding what should I be doing? I will be doing invitations this weekend. Should I start on programs already? I have booked florist, DJ, String quartet, venue, catering, photography, all attire is done

-a knottie in need of help!

    Dear FI-

Thank you for such nice things for Xmas, we have been cutting back so much lately and not shopping or doing anything for ourselves that the few nice presents was a great surprise!

    Dear Policemen,

Healthy people who are 29 and 32 do not just up and die of natural causes.  Seriously.  No, it may not have been foul play, but it certainly wasn't "natural causes".  Maybe drugs, maybe prescription overdose or too many pills mixed together...but seriously, let's stop with the BS of calling it "natural causes" for these young celebrities dying.

Pphqt-  I would definitely start your programs if all the details have been confirmed.  The more you do now the less you have to deal with later!    I am feeling the same way and we are just under 5 months to go.   There is really not that much to do and it feels weird.

I'm accumulating "details" right now... like toasting flutes, cake server set, aisle runner, etc.  Also looking for the right candy buffet containers.  I browse Ebay and Trash to Treasure to get some steals.

    Dear PPHQT10,
I would definitely start thinking about programs and working up your template but not necessarily printing them yet.  Leave this until the end because things may change.  I would wait until a few weeks out to actually print them.

    Dear Tiffany618,
I got all my candy buffet containers at TJ Maxx for like $80 and I got like 12 of them.  And they all really looked great on the buffet.  You can easily sell them afterwards too.

    Dear Cold,
Go away already.  I've been sick for a month!

    Dear Self,
Yes I know you've been sick for a month but enough with the banana bread and cookies already.  Christmas is over!  Get your butt back in the gym, pronto.

Oh thanks guys... I actually meant favor boxes.  I got the jars from TJ Maxx, but I may get one or two more because we are still debating between candy and gourmet popcorn or both.

They are definitely a great deal there!!

    Dear Knotties,

Did anyone close to you act really "weird" about your wedding?  My cousin (who is a BM and is as close as a sister) and my aunt (who is like a 2nd Mom to me) never say one word about the wedding. It is becoming very awkward.  They have been happily involved in every special moment in my life.  I'm not asking them to do anything, but they don't even ask how things are going.  Idk... I should probably be asking them why and not you guys. I digress..

Quit lying and pay for my repairs!!

    Dear dad,
I cannot fit all of my college stuff and wedding stuff in my room. Once Michael goes back to school, I am leaving it in his.

    Dear Asssss,
No wonder you're getting bigger.  I ate a scalloped potatoes and chocolate covered peanuts for breakfast.  I guess I'll think about fitting into my wedding dress next week, because if you want to know how I feel today, see above.  Would it be bad if I spent today on this corner of the couch watching Harry Potter over and over?  I'll even periodically type addresses from the guest list into this computer.  Sigh.

    Dear weather,
Please don't snow again like you did on Christmas Eve. I don't want it to take me an hour to get home from work when it usually takes 15 minutes.
    Thanks,

    Dear Knotties,
Has anyone else noticed the weird Screen names popping up on the side? Who are they and why are they the most recent posters??

    Dear MIL,
I absolutely love the Busy Moms cookbook and gnome thongs to match the gnome sleepshirt you bought me for Christmas.

    Not.

Yes, fmil doesn't seem to care about the wedding. If I bring it up in front of her she gets really quiet and acts oddly. Which is really weird because we get along really well...

    Dear Knotties,
I am so glad to be back in Big D.  The three days in BR felt like last year's eight days.
    Sincerely,
    Julie

    Dear MIL,
What have I never said to you that makes you think that I like fleur d'lis?  I am not a native of Louisiana and I don't live there and I don't wear pins.  Please stop with the fleur d'lis crap.  Also, you don't send me letters (I can't even get you to talk to me on the phone) so why would you give me a monogrammed wax sealer?
Also, like it or not, your older son went to A&M and you were an Aggie mom.  I thought buying you an Aggie mom cookbook was a nice idea but your comment about what do Aggies cook and eat really hurt my feelings.

    Dear ILs,
Thank you for ignoring me and treating me like I was invisible for most of the visit.  I see how it is now and I am refusing, REFUSING, to come back to BR at this point.
Your DIL who you don't care to know

    Dear Bill's Grandma,
Thank you for talking to me during your part of the trip.  You and your other two daughters are amazing and wonderful.  I am going to do my best to encourage Bill to develop better relationships with the three of you.
    Your granddaughter in law

    Last one, ladies, I promise....
    Dear Bill,
I love you but you blew it this time on the trip.  You knew what your dad was up to by offering us your brother's car and you fell for it anyways.  We ended up at your parents' mercy which is their plan and they like it that way.
Also, we were supposed to spend all Christmas here this year but I gave up part of the time with my family so that you could spend time with your family since your parents were here at Thanksgiving.  I got dumped all over and have never felt so alone while being surrounded by people in my entire life.  Believe me when I say that I am not going back to BR for the next Christmas unless we have a hotel room and a rental car and it's pre-paid.
That having been said, I am ready for things to return to normal once the holidays are officially over.
    Your Loving Wife
