November weddings...

Based on my informal survey a couple of months ago in the "What is YOUR Wedding Date and more ..." post, we have a few November weddings around the corner:

This weekend I realized that I only have three more weeks of "planning" and "preparing."  I am getting nervous...  I am almost done with all of my DIY projects but my big focus is packing up all of our wedding things and heading to NY.  We're going to need a mini-van!

I am also really emotional lately.  I think about my vows and I tear up.  I think about the day and I tear up.  This is not like me, and I can't say that I don't like it, but it is definitely different.  Since I am a second time bride, I didn't expect to feel this.  In so many ways the feeling is so much more intense this time.  Its taken me years to fully understand the magnitude of the vows and that leaves me wide eyed.

Anyone else feeling this?

Arv - my wedding is NEXT November and I am tearing up about it.  Watching a wedding on TV requires tissues!  I think it is normal for the very reasons you mentioned - "In so many ways the feeling is so much more intense this time.  Its taken me years to fully understand the magnitude of the vows and that leaves me wide eyed."

Thank you everyone!!!  Yes, I am VERY emotional, tearing up as I write this!!  Thinking about the ceremony, thinking about our kids being our wedding party, thinking about my son walking me down the aisle in his Marine Corps dress blues, thinking about what a long journey it's been between the first time i got married in 1978, to being divorced in 1993 with 4 little kids at age 34, to raising those 4 little kids by myself into 4 terrific adults and never realizing that God had this planned all the time.  Because as the last little kid left for college, almost at the exact moment, I met the man who will be my husband this Saturday.  A man who is literally the most wonderful guy I have ever known. I have been so blessed.  I am truly getting a second chance, a chance that I am embacing with all my heart and soul.  Thanks everyone for letting me share during this time.

Thanks ladies for all the best wishes and congratulations. It seems as though you have so much time and your wedding day is never going to get here and then all of a sudden the time is here. Its hard to believe in 2 weeks and 5 days the day I have thought about for the last 18 months will really really happen!

Arv and KittyI am so with you ladies! This is definitely an emotional time. God has truly given us a second chance at love.

Exactly, I couldn't agree more.  The magnitude of the realization of what this all means cannot be understated.  The good news is that we are all seasoned  enough that we really get it and it's a beautiful thing.  This is lost on most first time brides.  Age definetly brings wisdom....
