Second Weddings

hair/veil decisions

I had planned on a birdcage veil but at my hair trial decided against it and now I I have no Idea what to do with my hair I wanted down but once my stylist did this horrific downdo (did I just make up a new term!) He talked me into up --- see below

I dunno I'm almost now wanting to do a regular veil --  Is that just for a curch typ wedding I'm getting married at the same place as the reception is an elbow length veil ok?

I have seen plenty of pictures of ladies in veils at outdoor ceremonies, so I don't think that they are just for church weddings.

If a elbow length veil makes your heart sing do it!

I need to figure out (find photographs that represent) my down-do.  I do not want to wear my hair up because I never wear it up.  I also wasn't going to wear a veil but my mom persisted and won that one... but only for the ceremony! It's one layer and very sheer.

I went to weddingwire.com and looked through their photos they had a lot --

-- My FI saw my hair up when I came home Friday from my trial and said (nicely) he  really wanted my hair down -which is how he likes it

I actually have not even shoulder length hair so I was going to have to get a few extension to put it up????

I have shoulder length hair and my FI prefers it down as well.  He doesn't mind it curled but not an up do at all. My hair is straight.

    edited to make sense.

LOL, over recent years I've had pretty short hair, but have let it grow because I want to wear a French twist, which is really flattering for me, sort of like a "mini-facelift"........OMG, did I just say that?!?!?!

Also, we are getting married in August, when it's pretty hot, and I want to dance and not worry about my hair getting all sweaty and stuff.

As for the veil, if you want one, do it. I actually was supposed to get married 34 years ago, but it fell through (thank GOD). I have the tulle from that, and am making a "long casual, folded in half and both ends attached to a comb" veil for the ceremony only. Sort of like a "tulle cloud" trailing behind me. But it's only for pics and the ceremony, and I'll just leave the headpiece on the rest of the time.

Sue --- that sounds really pretty

apparantly I do a lot of thinking in my sleep about these things so I woke up thinking UP again except smoother
--- he styled my hair curly at first and then put it up I think it needs to be straightened first
--and B April showers! My hair is naturally curly if its down and it a rainy crappy day that will spell disaster
so  as of right now i'm back to thinking up ....until I talk my self out of it in tmy sleep tonight  Tongue out

If I had long enough hair for it, I would have had my hair in an updo for wedding.  It's too thick, curly and wavy for any sort of humidity and it was hotter than hell the week and week end of the wedding.  But it was short so it's moot point anyway for me.  Personally I do like the updo's.  My co-worker had an updo for her trial b4 wedding and her H said no.  She compromised by half and half.  I liked the updo on her better.

And Sue, you're spot on - mini facelift!
