I didn't even realize this board was here! So, I think I should introduce myself and ask a few questions since I'm sure this will be a board I will be on frequentl.
I apologize in advance to others who have already "met" me as I'm sure you will hear a lot of the same stuff.
Wedding date is June 30, 2012
FI and I were engaged on March 16
FI is 31 and never married. I am 30 in 6 days and have been married.
Up until about 3 hours ago, we were having an outdoor wedding but due to some technical issues, we are now looking at being married in a church. This is where issue #1 is for us. FI is Catholic (though not practicing) and I'm Lutheran (practicing). We decided that a church wedding will make sense for several reasons.
However, even though my church seems like the obvious choice, it is unfortunately the church I was married in the first time. I love my church but can't seem to shake the fact that I've been married there previously. Do I just "suck it up" and get married in my home church or go with FI's church- a church he hasn't stepped foot in in years?
Also, I saw posts about how to include children into the ceremony. I have a 5 year old daughter that we want to be an integral part of the ceremony without taking away from our union as husband and wife. I will read up on those posts and get ideas!
Ok, I think that's everything for now. Just a WWYD about the church dilemma?
