Wedding Changes...

Well, after almost two weeks cruising the Mediterranean with FI and our youngest kids, we came home and were surprised with a call from FI's sister. She wanted to know if we could take into consideration to get married in their home state (Iowa), once it would be more comfortable for his mom and all the family could attend as well. And they promised to help and assist me with anything I want to make it happen...I could not say no!!!
I was half way done with my planning for a Destination Wedding with contracts and checks ready to be mailed and now this...Undecided
So, now I will be getting married in Iowa. I already have a venue and a selected menu for a plated dinner, florist, DJ, wedding planner, transportation and decor lined up pretty much by FI's family.
I may not have the crystal blue Caribbean beach in my wedding but I certainly have the best supportive in law family in the world!!!Wink

    Sounds good to me! Change the DW location into your honeymoon! Best of both worlds!!

    With that much support you can't go wrong.  I agree with AdelphTN, use the location as your honeymoon.

    I agree with Adelphi and Rapunnzzll, and wow how nice is it to have that kind of support - and for them to have some much already lined up for you!  I know they requested a change in location, but now more of them get to participate and they already did some of the leg work for you, that sounds very nice to me! Congratulations on having such a nice in law family!

    This sounds a lot like my own situation. We were also planning a destination wedding and then his family chimmed in and offered to give us a big white wedding in their home state. So we changed everything. It was a little daunting at first, but now I am so glad that we went with it. Good luck to you!

    Great idea girls...honeymooning in the Caribbean looks great to me!! I am pretty blessed to have such great in laws and can you believe that  they think I am the one doing the big favor????
    I am also thrilled with the amount of oney that we will save once things there is a lot less expensive than in the area where we live.
    The most special aspect of this change is that FI's whole family will be there along with us when we exchange vows...I could not be more happy!!!!Cool

    That is wonderful news - and even more exciting that you did not mail off the deposits yet to the Caribbean!  You get the best of both worlds.  Very happy for you also!
