this will be 2nd marriage for both of us. We have 5 children aged 14-26. They will be our wedding party. We are  not having candle or sand ceromny, not having any kind of child vows. there will be no difference in them or if it was our best friends standing with us.   That being said my FI and I will have a first dance ( no dad or mom dance)  I would like to have a family dance with our children or wedding party if you will.    What song? I have looked and looked but can not find anything fitting. To even out the # of partners we would have my sons long time girlfriend be his partner (26). any thoughts

Music has been one of the tough ones for us as well.  Like you, we aren't doing the sand ceremony or unity candle.  FI keeps changing his mind, but the last decision that was made was a fun dance.  We also have an uneven number so the current decision is to do a line dance, Cupid shuffle.  No one will expect it!  The only suggestion might be to find an instrumental version of a song you like instead of finding a song with appropriate lyrics.

We danced with our kids to "Find Your Wings" by Mark Harris.  He is a Christian singer-- but neither of us normally listen to that particular type of music.  We are not overly religious, either.  The song has some religious overtones-- but mostly I just love the lyrics.

If you want something fun, "We are Family" would be great. If you want something more slow and emotional, I've always loved this song from the movie "This is My Life".......it's called "You are the Love of my Life", by Carly Simon. I'm a sucker for emotion, and cannot watch this, or hear this song, without getting teary just thinking of dancing to it with my kids:

we are family was my first thought but when you listen to it its all about sisters lol   yes i have asked the kids and they dont like anything either but like the idea. it is not something we have to do.    I just thought it would be a simple way to say  "hey our family just grew and FI and I love them all"  with the right song. so any suggestions help
