Just wanted to give you ladies an update after I asked for advice on how to announce the engagement.
I ended up texting my godmother (wanted to tell her first) and told her I had some good news to share that FI and I are getting married next year. It just so happened that she was at the monthly Girls Night with my other aunts and some cousins (which I completely forgot about). Well, she needs her "cheater glasses" as she calls them, to read texts so she gave her phone to my other aunt to read the text. My other aunt read it out loud and then I got bombarded with congrats, "where is my text" messages, and phone calls.
I don't think the announcement could have gone any better and everyone is super excited for us. They all LOVE my FI. I guess I really didn't have anything to worry about
