Second Weddings

Second time around, and small wedding...need some thoughts...

I'm 31, this is my second marriage, and this time, I'm doing it
simple! We've opted to have a small wedding about 30-40 people,
possible in our new home, hopefully. We want it to be nice,
simple, no drama...cheap and chic wedding!
I'm debating should I do invites? Do a gift registry?
My friend wants to throw me a shower, but I don't know!!!!

any thoughts!?

That response just about covers it, LOL. Have the wedding you want. No rules (other than anyone coming to the shower should be invited to the wedding).

I asked my FI what he thought he'd like for our wedding. He said he'd like something that we'd both be proud of.  Asked him about his first and he said that he wasn't involved in the planning at all.  I laughed.  Said you have your choice, I can do everything and you're stuck or you jump in and help with all the details.  Well he's involved.  Had him addressing and stamping invitations last week.

How about a second wedding for me, 4th for him? What the heck do you do with that scenario? I am 53, he is 55. I mean seriously I don't even know where to start, like a wedding dress....At my age? HELP!

I'm there with you - I'm 56, he's 57, 2nd marriage for both of us.  I've helped plan weddings for 2 of my kids, but this is different. We want small and informal, just immediate family and maybe a couple of friends.  We each have 3 kids, most are married, and will have 7 grandchildren by then (there will be 4 under age 2!) Add in several siblings for each of us and a handfull of cousins and friends and we're up to 30. We've booked the location, but that's it.  I want to wear something comfortable and casual, yet special.  Where do I start?  Oh,and I'm a plus-size so that complicates it even more.

Do what you feel comfortable with and don't let your plus size determine what you choose to wear.  This will be your special day so celebrate it in style.

BTW, I am 63 and my fiance' is 63.  We are planning a wedding next year and are inviting 60+ people for a real celebration...ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, music...the works.  "The gift of your presence is our present" will be included on the invitation.  My only delima is the dress.  It will be white though.

Go for it.  You only live once.

I am 54 and my fiance is 55. This will be his 4th wedding and my 2nd. I want to wear something comfortable but elegant and off white. I want to feel like a bride without looking ridiculous! Haha! We ar planning a wedding for next year also, 50+ guests and think we will do it on Mackinaw Island. Problem is I live in Ohio and he lives in Michigan. Complicated! I would appreciate some ideas on a dress too! I am petitie, size 4 and short. He is 6 foot! Help!
