OK, time to spill: Your celebrity "crushes", and did you ever meet them?

I just thought this would be a fun topic, because some of us are mature and have lived a long time and had the chance to do wild and crazy things.

I'll start so no one else feels "lame" LOL

Your crush(es): For a long time it was Kevin Costner. LOVED him in so many movies.
Then, it became Russell Crowe.

How long it lasted: Costner: Maybe 5 years, in the late 80's early 90's.

Russell Crowe: Started when I saw "Gladiator" had no idea who he was. I went to see the movie TWICE, within a week after it came out, was fascinated by him. The crush lasted probably until he got married, don't remember how long ago that was.

Did you ever get the chance to meet the subject of your crush?:
Costner, no. That was before the internet was around, and people weren't posting where celebrities were.
Crowe, YES!

What happened when you met them?: I used to cruise a few Russell Crowe internet boards, so we all talked about when he was making movies in the US, etc. This was back when I had expendable cash, LOL. I met up with a few of the other crazy ladies in NYC when he was filming "A Beautiful Mind", right after he won the Oscar for "Gladiator". We stayed in a hotel near Central Park, went places in NYC, shopping, sight seeing, and we were in a cab going to Macy's, when one of the women got a call from another one with the exact corner where they were filming that day. We told the cabbie to go there, and we stood around the corner for HOURS. There was a huge trailer we assumed was his, and the rest of the movie crew knew we were waiting for him. At one point I saw a pair of feet sitting on the steps of the trailer that hadn't been there, and we approached. It was HIM!!! OMG!!! We talked to him for a while, got several autographs (yes we had pictures with us, just in case). He couldn't have been nicer. One of the extras told us which scene they were filming that day, so whenever I see that scene in the movie, I know THAT was the day we met him.

Does your spouse/fiance know about the crush(es)?: Yes, Kevin knows. I have the personalized autographed picture on my kitchen bulletin board. To this day, LOL.

Do they know the "whole story"?: He knows we "happened upon" him in NYC one day when I was there. NO, he does not know the lengths we went to meet him, LOL. But he knows I'm a passionate person and takes everything in stride. He also knows he's my #1 crush now.

Your crush(es):  Many, but biggest one - Jonathan Cain of Journey

How long it lasted: Since I was 12 until present (yes, I'm a silly girl)

Did you ever get the chance to meet the subject of your crush?:  Yes.

What happened when you met them?:  I've actually met him twice.  The first time was after a club show in Austin, TX when he was playing with Bad English.  I made some friends at the show and we followed them to their hotel.  They got in a van with the hotel name on the side.  The guys were in the lobby, so I'm sure they were expecting to be "followed" and we weren't the only ones there.  The tour manager took me over to meet Jonathan.  Told him I'd been a fan, etc.  Took some pics and that was that. 

Years later, he was playing a solo showcase at a local music store.  By then I was married and yes, my husband (now xH) went along.  I took a copy of the picture of me and Jonathan from Austin.  He said, "That place was next to a nudie bar, right?"  It was.  I LMAO.  We took more pics and it was a great time.

I haven't talked to Jonathan Cain since that day, but did see Journey many times since '98 - including several 3-day weekends (1 show a day).

Does your spouse/fiance know about the crush(es)?:  Yes. 

Do they know the "whole story"?:  Yes.  He thinks I'm a little crazy, but he's ok with it.

Your crush(es):I had many, the last one was George Clooney

How long it lasted: It's been around 14 years or so

Did you ever get the chance to meet the subject of your crush?:  Yes, twice. One I was getting the elevator in a hotel in NYC and he was in front of me inside the elevator. The other time we were in the flight going to Milan. He has a house over there very close where my family has a house as well in Lake Como .

What happened when you met them?: The first time I didn't do anything else; the second time we talked a little bit about the time I talked to him a little bit about the region where we were going to (Milan and the lakes).



Does your spouse/fiance know about the crush(es)?: yes, he does and he thinks that's funny because I have a crush but I am not the fanatic type...so it's all OK with him.

Do they know the "whole story"?:Yeap, he even was disappointed because I talked to Clooney like I talk to anyone else...not even a "OMG!" sort of thing!

Clooney would definitely be on my list of crushes.  I think I would totally have an OMG moment if I met him.  I liked him back on the Facts of LIfe in the late 80s!
