Second Weddings

songs for reception with my children

This is my second wedding and I have 3 kids I'm Having my oldest to walk me down. My parents are no longer living so I want to dance with my three children  but I'm having lots of trouble finding the perfect song for us. We are not into country music at all more hip hop classic rock etc. if any one have a good song it would be most helpful..

I love this idea and thought of it myself.  Both our fathers are passed away, so I will have a mother/son dance and my FI a daughter/father dance to "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wanka & the Chocolate Factore by Gene Wilder.  I saw it in a bridal magazine awhile back and saved it to my folder - according to marthastewartweddings: 'the chimes in the intro evoke memories for many guests'.

And it's a bonus that the old version was a childhood favorite of mine and the new version is my sons favorite!

That is a GREAT song from Willy Wonka!

There is a great song sung by Carly Simon called "You are the Love of my Life". It was from a movie years back.

Those are great songs!  We were having trouble coming up with something, so we went with a fun song.  Halfway through we pulled people onto the dance floor to join us.  We did the Cupid Shuffle and everyone had a blast.
