Second Weddings

Pearls of Wisdom

Hello Ladies!

In less then two weeks I will be a Mrs.... CAN'T WAIT!  The planning portion is now over, and as silly as it sounds, I am almost sad.  I've loved every stressful second of creating my wedding fluff.

Our wedding is quasi "destination" in that we are heading back home to NY to be get married.  This means packing up the car with all the fluff, the kids and the dog....  My niece has planned a shower for us for next  Friday, a Bachelor/Bachelorette party for Saturday, and the wedding is Sunday... I didn't expect all the bells and whistles, and I am honored and a bit overwhelmed.  Last week I was an emotional wreck, but this week I am just READY!

I think I have all my bases covered, but I wanted to hear from the married ladies.  Any words of wisdom?  Anything you can tell a bride in the final 12 days?  I've throughly enjoyed this board and the support you have all given!

The best wedding day advice I got the first time around, was "Be sure to take a step sometime during the day/reception and soak it all in.  Take that mental picture of your friends & family surrounding you with love."  Its a memory you will cherish for years.

    Good luck to you!!

forget any details, if it hasn't been handled by now, it doesn't matter (except the marriage license, lol).

It will seem to go by so quickly... do your best to soak it up.

Totally agree with PP . . . after my first wedding ended, I looked back and couldn't recall any details.  This time around, I want to be in the moment.  Enjoy!

I totally agree with all the pp, take a mental picture of it all, take a good look at your FI as you walk down the aisle, you'll want to remember that, enjoy yourself, have fun and don't forget to breathe!

    Congratulations :)

I can tell you that when you look at each other and say your "I do's" everything else just sort of fades away.  And once that was over, I felt like that was it.  I didn't care about the reception or all the little things that had been niggling away at me.  The most wonderful moment in my life had just happened and I could have died happy right then and there.  It would have been a problem, but I would have been happy. Don't forget to eat at your reception.  Have someone set aside a plate for you if you think you might be too busy socializing.  Most of all, have fun!!!  Enjoy, enjoy.  :)

Oh ARV, I am so happy for you.
Just enjoy your family, let the little things go.
The last week is so exciting and fun, I agree with all the others to look at him as you walk down the isle. It was funny because as I was walking I was looking at the crowd trying to see who all was there then mentally slapped myself saying "look at him, look at him!!!!, and when I did his smile melted my heart.

My best advice is to now take really good care of yourself, eat well, sleep well, drink plenty of water and TAKE VITAMINS!!!! You want to be feeling your best on your big day.

I wish you much luck and every happiness and may all of your wedding dreams come true Arv.

My best advice is to assume that five things will go wrong at your wedding/reception.  That way, when such things happen, you can say to yourself, "There's one out of the way!" instead of, "What a disaster!"
