Second Weddings

What are the chances of this?

I've got 2 daughters in college as well as a son. FI has 2 adult daughters.

The 4 daughters are our bridal party - plus my sister and FI brother - and my son is walking me down the aisle.

All females are wearing black cocktail dresses of their choice.

The youngest daughter was being a pill about going dress shopping so last week I went out and bought her 4 dresses, brought them home for her to try on. She's the only one that lives at home. I loved one, she loved another... but we were definitely leaning towards the one I loved.

This afternoon older daughter went shopping and bought a dress. Sent me a picture message on my phone. Which dress? The one that I loved! I said, "Hmm, isn't that the same dress I got your sister?" She asked how she should know that and I reminded her that I'd sent her an email. She said she'd check when she got home. Sure enough, same dress.

She then said to me, "I can't imagine sis picking out a dress like that." That's when I reminded her that *I* had picked out the dress!

Younger daughter comes home from work this afternoon. We have plans to get her shoes tonight. She says, "I've decided I prefer the dress that you love."

Of course, since we're not doing traditional everyone wear the same dress, they wouldn't be caught dead in the same dress... so in addition to going to buy shoes tonight, we had to go buy a new dress!

Haha.  Oh no!  This is one reason, of many, that out of my four children - I am glad I only have one girl.  Oddly enough, however, she is the least concerned with fashion of the four!

I hope everyone has something they are happy with in the end!

While older daughter was telling me about picking the same dress as sister, older stepdaughter called, making me wonder if I should tell her or her sister not to buy the same dress!

Thats pretty funny.  After having 3 boy's and one girl, I'm just now getting into that situation.  My daughter (10), typical girly girl who can handle herself with the boy's.  FI's daughter (11), hasn't a clue.  She's not girly, really doesn't care if her hair is combed and has no eye for matching her clothes.  My daughter fixes her hair, tells her what matches and paints her nails.  It's like a scene out of My Fair Lady.  Too funny, I can only guess what the teenage years are going to bring. This weekend we're going to pick out their dresses, we'll see how that goes!

Good luck with getting everything coordinated, sounds like you'll have a beautiful bridal party.

My first thought was "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree". Your daughters inherited by genes or environment your style sense.

I'm also allowing our 4 BM to pick their own black dress, only because two are over 50 (my friends) and my fiance and I each have a teen daughter.......doubtful we'd find the same dress to fit each person's body & style sense.

I'm pretty sure we won't have any duplicates.

Good luck with the dress search.

Our of 4 daughters, one is over 40. One just had a baby 3 weeks ago. One is in her 20s and one is still a teen.

Can you imagine them wearing the same thing? Well, I guess now we can imagine the two youngest wearing the same thing - although they won't!

We went with black cocktail dresses as soon as we learned that FI younger daughter was having a baby shortly before the wedding.

My 2 sisters are my bridesmaids and I told them to pick their own dresses. They could be long, short, different, or the same,  what ever they wanted in their own price range.
I told them to pick their own shoes and hairstyles and jewelry.

They went totally bridesmaid on me and chose a gorgeous dress that they will both wear in the same color. They had a choice for different colors and wanted the same. Love them. They are individualizing with shoes and jewelry. We've had a ball going through all of our collective jewelry choosing what to wear.

I'm wearing my mom's vintage rhinstone necklace that her mom wore to her wedding. It goes perfectly with my vintage theme. Although it's rhinstones, it's a very high end piece, the ladies are still deciding on their jewelry. The gowns are deep purple one shoulder satin rouched bodice. The bottom of the dress is jersey.
There is a long satin sash flowing from one shoulder in the back. The girls look fantastic in them.

I'm also wearing a pair of my sister's gorgeous ivory sandals with bow on the top. It matches my dress perfectly.

I am covered on the something old, something new, something borrowed. I'm working on the something blue.
