Yay!!! We Found the FDSD Dress!

The plus to going to a boutique that is close to home was finding the FDSD's dress for our wedding.  While the seamstress was marking my gown for hemming, the FDSD was trying on gowns and looking through things.  She found a few she liked but, the shop owner pulled two more dresses...when the FDSD found the dress she beamed "this is my dress!".  Her dress is Wtoo 7594 in Indigo.  That is a relief to have it ordered.  We were afraid we would have to go on a family outting more than an hour away to find her a dress.  The other nice thing about this is that she discounted the dress 10%.

We also found her winter ball dress (Tony Bowls 21024) there too (15% discount)... and some how my credit card got left behind - oops.  I will pick it up tomorrow.Embarassed

    Future Dear Step Daughter (FDSD)

Her dad was kind of dreading the trip we would have had to make... So now it'll be for my shoes instead.  LOL

Debi, I hear ya but the height difference between my dear FI and me is 2 inches... so no glamorous high heels for me... I'm looking for a cute kitten heel or a low wedge - not a flat....  the FDSD maybe also wanting to hunt for shoes for the wedding.

SO happy for you Angie (and FDSD, thanks for the acronym explanation). I know how tough it is to get teens on board with a dress! Luckily my daughter found one last month she loved at Lord & Taylor and we bought it on the spot. In the next few months I'm going to have to help my FDSD look for one as well, but she still wants to lose a few pounds of "post pregnancy fat".  Because the BM just have to find black, flattering dresses of any sort, it should be easy........NOT. Never easy with teens!

As for shoes, I'm only a couple of inches shorter than my fiance. I found these shoes on amazon.com, which has over 500 white bridal type shoes you can search by heel height, decor, color, etc.

I like a mule style because they are more comfortable and don't squeeze my toes. The beading across the top is really pretty. Plus they are more forgiving size-wise when you order online.............having looked for shoes with my daughter who is very particular, if I can find something online I buy it!

Angie.......I may have some high heels for the wedding....but on the side I am going to have some comfy cozy little kitten heels too...JUST n case! It's funny, I just went for my first dress fitting (very exciting) on this past tuesday and I had her hem the dress a pinch over 1 inch off the floor.....

My shoes are a whopping 4.5 inch heel  (am i nuts) so, just in case with danceing and all that i may want to put on a lower heel...( i am not a barefoot contessa, I always wear shoes) so, the dress is a bit shorter than I normally would have wanted it...but I am planning ahead so I don't tripover it  too bad.....

Besides, as I walk down the aisle...my blue shoes will peek out

SUE.....I love mules, but I have the hardest time with them...my toes always feel like I have to grip as I walk, then they hurt...isn't that funny,  can wear huge high heels but not a simple mule.....

Congrats on all the dress finds...I wish I had a daughter to shop with...I have two boys and my FH has 3  boys!  5 boys ranging in age from 18-23.....

Congrats on finding her dress!  Even more exciting is that it is on sale!

I go to pick up my dress on Saturday - I cannot wait!  Going to make it a girls day out with me and my MOH.
