Walking down the aisle a 2nd time?

Debating about what to do about walking down the aisle...

I could walk down myself, have my dad walk me down....or wondering about other options.

Has anyone just avoided walking down the aisle? Or perhaps walked down with your FI?

Apparently I should have  quoted the unedited post I was referring to....
  • I was wondering what happened, Donna, that all of a sudden you were talking about FB.  :-P

My daughter and I lived on our own for 5 years before we moved in with FI - and we lived with him for 5 more years... She's going to be my MOH and also walk me down the aisle.

  • I'm walking by myself... my dad passed away from cancer almost 16 years ago.  I am not super close with my mom and don't feel comfortable having her walk with me.  I wasn't going to have my cousin who I'm close to walk... but he can't make it up so its just me :)  Which is just fine by me! :)

  • Even though its my second wedding, I'm still a traditionalist and want either my father or both of my parents to walk me down the aisle, but its also a matter of what you're comfortable with! :-)

  • I was escorted by my mom and my DH was escorted by his mom and his DD.
  • I'm in the same boat. I think I'm going to talk to my dad and see how he feels. I'm leaning more towards walking myself but if my dad want's to do it I will be more than happy to let him! I guess I feel like he already gave me away once but my ex cheated with one of my best friends who was also a bridesmaid so I pretty much consider that wedding null and void. Anybody else feel this way?
  • I was going to have my dad give me away again but when I thought about it, since this is my second marriage and I have been on my own for a while raising 3 kids on my own, I figured if anyone was giving anyone away it would be me! :) So I was prepared to walk down alone, but then my brother suddenly passed in January. The "aisle walking" came up in a discussion with my brother in law and he asked if he could do it. My FI thought it was a great idea considering how close I was to my brother so to honor him I am having my brother in law escort me down the aisle. Hoping not to ruin my makeup! :)
  • My dad passed away after his parkinsons progressed too fast and had other complications due to his health deteriorating. I think I will have my mom walk me, I feel like I will be a nervous wreck walking myself down the aisle. I will need the help and support to walk down the aisle!
  • I'm having this dilemma too... My first husband passed away and this is 2nd marriage for both of us. My Dad walked me down the first time, but seems awkward for a 2nd time. Plus, we're not super close. Like the idea of meeting my fiancé half way. Also considering having his two boys (15 and 11) walk me down. He has 100% custody and we all live together.
