Way to honor a best man and maid of honor at reception if not having a ceremony???

We have decided to elope and only our parents and siblings will be in attendance for the ceremony. Originally we were inviting all our friends and were going to have a best man and maid of honor. We  are having a reception the weekend after we are married. I have talked to the would be best man and maid of honor and they are totally cool with it. But I would like some ideas of how to make them stand out or feel special during our reception party. Any ideas?

  • My friend had an AHR after a DW and had the DJ introduce her bridal party, but they went to the DW with them. Still, it might be nice to acknowledge them in a toast. You don't have to announce that they're the BM and MOH, just say a few kind words to thank them for their support.

  • Usually the BM and MOH make a toast in the couple's honor at the reception.

I agree with this, actually.  My husband and I had a teeny destination wedding followed by a much larger AHR.  My dad and my husband's brother said a few words and them my husband and I said a large thank you to everyone.  We appreciated everyone coming so much, this wasn't our wedding but a large party, and we wanted everyone to know how happy we were that they were all there.  We highlighted lots of people who had lots of good things going on and made the AHR a big family celebration.

If you choose to do a thank you speech, mention your MOH and BM in there.
