David's Bridal Colors

Hi ladies -

I have six bridesmaids, who live essentially all over the country.  We decided the easiest thing to would be to get their dresses at David's Bridal - we could all look online, then after deciding on a few styles, girls could go to the closest store, try dresses on and go from there.  The problem we're encountering is the online colors.  They're going to have navy blue dresses, but we can't tell if Marine or Peacock is a closer match.

Has anyone seen these colors in person and have suggestions?  Thanks!

  • You can get color swatches in the store. I think the best option woud be for you to go to a store with one of your ladies, and see the colors in person. Getting swatches would allow you to take the fabric into different lighting areas and see which color you like best in your ceremony space, etc. Lighting can make a big impact on a color.

This is a good recommendation. We have bought a couple swatches from DB for our color (they're a dollar each - no big). First, the colors online are very different- I thought I wanted Pool but turns out I wanted Capri. Second, I've used it for tuxes, will be using it to pick fabrics for the venue, and for our flowers, she's not only matching, she's going to use the swatch to wrap FI's boutonniere. They're just very helpful.
  • I chose peacock and just a warning, finding ribbons to match, paper and linens. I was fine since most of my other colors are jew tone too. I am glad though since the bridesmaids are going to really stand out and not get lost in the linens.

  • I wore Marine as a bridesmaid. Dark navy blue. Very pretty.
  • I am going through Davids Bridal as well. My bridesmaids are wearing Marine. It is such a pretty color!!! Our other colors are pink and gray, so the marine goes perfectly!
