Orange Wedding

We're planning an April wedding and I need some help with my colors. We are having it at Myers Park in McKinney and the reception hall is...well...Texas. There is a lot of brown and cream and it reminds me of a steak house.
I really want to have orange be our primary color, but I'm having trouble finding colors to go with it and look good in the reception hall. I like fall colors, but I don't want to be tacky with fall colors and a spring wedding.

Hey there!  :)  I am not familiar with that venue but don't worry too much about the season.  Use the colors you love.  Also Googling the colors you are thinking of using and looking at inspiration boards can be very helpful.  Chocolate brown and cream is classic any time of year and orange would make a pretty accent.

Here is a link a fellow Knottie shared with me.  (mandaroo, I think?)

This blog has several ideas for color palettes.

I say use the colors you like and want to be a part of your wedding and do not worry about the season.  We had our colors picked long before we had a date set.

I was worried about the same thing when we started discussing colors. We wanted red and black but our wedding is in the middle of summer. We decided that we would go with the colors that we wanted. Nobody will notice or even care what season your color palette matches! Just go with what y'all want!

Our reception place was very Texas like as well.  At least they don't have Texas flags everywhere and spurs, rope, taxedermy and chaps on the wall.

Is the reception at The Landing?  If so I think orange will come off fine.  Don't worry about the fall colors for a spring wedding.  Go with what you want!  I think burnt orange and a navy would look good in there with the cream and brown.

I used orange in my wedding and I felt like it didn't look too fall-ish except for at the ceremony when I decided to use pumpkins last minute. You can see my pictures on the site below and let me know if you want to see more or have any questions. www.meenajeanesphotography.com/Ahren_Matt

Yeah it's at "The Landing". I'm meeting with a planner on Saturday and maybe she can give me some insight, but I think I going to stick orange and fall like colors. I think they will look best in there. Really bright colors might look funny.
