I had a student go to in school suspension yesterday.  His class was having a guest speaker (a VP from a huge bank chain) and he said "The Spurs can suck my big weiner" when the VP made a joke about the Spurs and the Mavs.  He also got a ticket for a school resource officer for disruption of the education process.  He's been a turkey all year long and someone finally nailed him.  I laughed for ten minutes today when they told me.  Did I mention that his mom is a teacher at the HS with me?  Hahahahahahahahahaha!

Sometimes I wish I could book myself a vacation and go by myself.  Or I wish I could book a vacation and Steve not flip out on me about spending money.  We haven't gone on a vacation since our honeymoon and I need to get away from here.

I wish some people in my life would put their big kid pants on and act like adults.  I'm too nice to say anything to them though.

Tiffany, yes, I agree! Immaturity seems to be the issue for today.

My stomach hurts!! They let me go at 9:30 for a lunch break.  Seriously 9:30-11:30??? I just ate breakfast. :(
  • edited December 2011
...I could not do lunch at 9:30 or even 11:30.  That's a bad time for lunch!

I am just annoyed because I have a college degree and still can't find a job.  I know the economy is hard right now....it just sometimes seems like my degree isn't actually worth anything!

sparklingdiamond, I know so many highly intelligent people out of work, I look around our office and wonder how some of the idiots are still employeed! Good luck searching!
  • edited December 2011
LMAO pphqt.  I wonder the SAME thing when I come to work every day.   They even hire new ones that I am just baffled about how they chose them.

Mariah- What about a road trip or something that you could drive to?  I'm needing the same thing and we have decided to check out Arkansas during the summer and possibly venture into TN.  DH wants to go to the Diamond Cave thing.  Not what I really want but hey, it gets me out of here.

Can I not take a pee break boss?  Seriously.  That's all I left my office for.  No need to hunt me down because someone came in 5 seconds after I left.  At least you were nice enough to not knock down the stall door.

We've been married almost 4 months and I'm a little annoyed that one of my long time friends, who did not come to my wedding, hasn't even said "Congrats" or anything for that matter.  I know my wedding didn't revolve around everyone else but I've made it a point to recognize your life acheivements as well as your daughters.  I don't know why I am surprised since I am the one who usually contacts you, rather than it being both ways.  At least I am becoming aware.

Dont feel bad shortgirl...my boss acts as though his life is over when I step out to go pee sometimes haha like he can't handle his own work (well.....he probably cant) :p
  • edited December 2011
Dude, I can't even take a pee break without calling someone to come cover me first.  I can't wait to have a job when I can pee without worrying about someone being there to answer a phone call.

I thought about a road trip.  I had actually been looking at something around Port Aransas but I think just getting out of the state and country would do me a world of good.  I never got to travel much as a kid, so I kind of want to hop on a plane and go somwhere exotic.

So one of David's friends asked if him and his girlfriend could come over tonight and watch the basketball game.  That's fine with me, but now I feel like I need to run home and clean the house.  Like I'm sitting here making a checklist of what needs to get done before they come over, and I'm probably going to leave early to make sure stuff gets done.  The house isn't dirty or anything, I just stress out too much about stuff like this and I will literally run around the house for 2 hours straightening things that don't need to be.

I know that my house doesn't need to be spotless to have guests over, but I feel like it should be because won't people judge me (and not my husband) if the house isn't perfect?  Ugh, I feel crazy today.

I'm so tired today. My boss threw an insane deadline at me out of nowhere and said he'd work on it too....and he absolutely did not. So I stayed up until 3:30 last night trying to get it done. He even sounded frustrated that not everything was done by this morning. whatever. happy birthday to me.

Happy Birthday Cheryl!   Sorry about the deadline. =(

Steph- I'm the same way.   Everything has to be spotless for someone to even stop by for a minute.  I think my Mom somehow ingrained that into me.

Planning your wedding in 3 weeks doesn't give you much street cred, in my opinion.

    Yes, I'm feeling snarky today.

It's almost 1:00 and I see no sign of a lunch break in my future.  Guess I'll just have to eat my birthday cake.

    Happy Birthday Cheryl!

I haven't seen my father in 15 years, before then I only saw him every so often (probably a total of 4 years in my 28 years of existence). He sends me random letters stating that he wants to stay in contact with me, and he is such a jack a$$ for not staying in touch blah blah blah.  I send him letters all the time, at least 4 a year. Since February, I sent him 2 letters informally announcing my engagement, and requesting addresses from his side of the family.  I tried calling him, but he changed his phone number.  He never responded to my letters.  However, yesterday I got a small card in the mail from his address. I got excited, and opened it.  Inside of the card was a note from my step mother:

"I heard you were asking for these addresses, best wishes"

and enclosed were a few addresses.

    My heart sunk.

The hardest part about planning my wedding, is the fact that I don't have a father.

Beth, that breaks my heart to read. I couldn't imagine my life without my father. You are a strong woman. Remind yourself that those that are close to you during this exciting and important time are the ones that love you dearly and truely.

Beth, I am so sorry.  I had issues with my father when I got engaged and although they were somewhat resolved by the wedding, it was painful and heartbreaking and I could not consider letting him walk me down the aisle.  I hope you have others in your life that are there for you where your father isn't.  Focus on the ones that WILL be standing beside you on your wedding day.

    Mariah--what about Fredericksburg?

    Happy Birthday Cheryl!

I flame whoever hit my grandfather yesterday. Or possibly my grandfather if he didn't look before he crossed the street (my grandmother was hit a few years ago as well...they are not smart when it comes to walking on foot) We think he is going to be okay (broken arm and a couple cracked ribs--1 pierced his lung), but I feel bad because I haven't talked to him in months. They were always very difficult and stingy, but I still love them. My dad said he is hysterical and was talking about wanting to die yesterday.

Also, this weekend is my lingerie shower, thrown my my sister and 2 bridesmaids/roommates. Yet both of my roommates (separately) thought they shower was on the wrong day. I thought they were throwing it...

    Happy Birthday Cheryl & Steph!

Beth - I hope you find peace soon. I can't give you advice since I don't know what that is remotely like, but I pray that you can find comfort in talking about it as well as those around you.

Mariah - book a trip now before summer prices get sky high. Call a travel agent and look at options. Traveling and getting away is SO important for your own sanity and your marriage. Hope it works! :)

I am making myself sick on coconut cake.

I am also desperate for a vacation.  Ben is talking about skipping it in July since we may go to Europe next year.  I have already told him if I take a week off from work and we don't go somewhere, I will be very depressed.  He doesn't want that.

Marissa, I am so sorry--glad your grandfather is OK!

    Thanks for the b-day wishes!
