Since there is usually a lot of FMIL drama on the boards, I wanted to add a positive note. My FMIL and I don't exactly "click" but we get along. Our relationship is getting a lot better - today was an example. I invited her to go to my first alterations appointment and she came along. My mom and all my BMs live out of state, so it was just the two of us. We found out that we had lots to talk about on the car ride (about 45 min) and it wasn't awkard, like I thought it might be.
She really liked my dress once I had it on (she didn't seem too excited when I had shown it to her at my home). We also took time to look for a dress she could wear and I think she had a really fun time trying on dresses with me! (She doesn't have any daughters, so she's never got to experience this before).
We found a beautiful dress that we both like (she kept asking for my opinion and I kept telling her to just get whatever she wanted lol). I had to give her several ideas of what I thought would be nice and then told her to pick what SHE wanted. She finally made a decision and we both love it.
Anyway, just wanted to share. Please share your positive future in-law stories!
