Out ot Town Bridesmaid - who pays travel expense

I'm newly engaged and just starting to plan. I have a rough idea of who I want for bridesmaids, all but 1 live out of town, however 1 lives quite a distance away. 

1. who pays for their travel expenses to the wedding?

2. if i were to offer to help pay for the one who lives further away. do I have to help pay for the others? (2 live 2 hours awa across state border the other is about 12 hours away 2 states away)

They are responsible for their travel expenses.  Assuming if they weren't in the WP, they would still come to the wedding, right?  If you can chip in, great, but it's not required. 
All 3 of my BMs are flying to mine.  I'm so lucky!!  But I couldn't imagine anyone else standing up with me!

They pay their own way.

1. The bms pay for their own travel expenses.

2. If you would like to help one out with her travel expenses, it's not neccessary to help the others. Just keep it between you and her.

If you are able to assist, but can't pay for all travel expenses, you could offer to pay for all of your BMs dresses.  Although this isn't required, it would help take some of the burden off of your traveling BMs.  If you do this, the dress cannot be considered their  WP gift.

Both times I have been in weddings they were at least 300 miles away.  I paid for my own travel to get there, but the bride and/or her family took care of lodging arrangements.  Once I stayed with a friend of the bride.  Another time the hotel room was paid for.
