beer

I was wondering how to go about buying the 400-500 bottles of beer we need for our reception.  Where can we get these the cheapest?

thanks!

I would go to some place like Big Daddy's or Sigel's and see if they're willing to cut you a break on your 500ish bottles.

Have you thought about getting a couple of kegs instead?  Ok I know first thought a wedding is not a frat party but if you have a bartendar they can serve the beer in glasses so when you look back at your wedding pictures people aren't holding bud light bottles but nice glassware.

Anyway that's what I did at my wedding and it worked out great.  (plus my husband brewed beer for the wedding, we have a whole set in our garage)

You can still pour a bottle into a glass. Keg beer doesn't taste very good.

    Try what Marissa said.

ewinkler - My FI brews as well, but we thought we couldn't serve it... How did you get around it?

MsLaura31 - We had our reception at Winfrey Point so we could bring our own alcohol in.  We stored the beer in a keg and brought that to the reception and then a bartendar served it in glasses to our guests.  It worked out really well for us and all of our guests loved it.

What do you all think about COSTCO for buying beer in bottles--we can bring our own alcohol in at our venue, but kegs aren't an option. Any other cheaper alternatives?

I would also check with Goody Goody...if you don't use it all I believe they let you return unused alchol, but not saying there would be any left ;0)

Marissa - one great thing about Costco is that you can return what you don't use.  So if you want to overestimate how much you'll need, you can return any cases you don't open.  Their prices are very good compared to the other liquor stores we went to - but it just depends on what you want (their selection is obviously more limited).
