Moms and Maids

Maid of Honor Decision

Can you have more than one maid of honor? I have three best friends and I can't choose? Can there be one maid of honor and maybe the other two can be special bridesmaids (basically equivalent to a maid of honor). What would I call them? Senior bridesmaids? I don't have a sister so its hard. AHH, I'm so afraid of hurting feelings.

Are they your only three attendants? If so then just leave them all as BM.  If they ask about the MOH title (which is rude, IMO), tell them that they are all equally important to you.

  • I'm in a wedding party with three maids of honor (three bridesmaids as well).
Just don't change your mind before the wedding and try to switch one of you bridesmaids for a maid of honor. It makes it feel like you don't apreciate all you ladies equally.

With ten women in your BP, I definitely would stay away from a made-up title like "senior bridesmaid." You get into ranking territory and you'll surely end up with hurt feelings. I like Stage's idea of having three MOHs. Or you could not name a MOH and simply have them stand closest to you during the ceremony.

  • Story of my life right now!  Still don't know which one to "pick."  My bridal party will be my 3 best friends, fiance's sister and sister-in-law. Can't pick between the 3 BFFs for the MOH position.   At the end of the day I know all 3 of my best friends and new sisters to be are all going to involved and there for me so I'm planning on spreading out the responsibilities. Haven't decided if I will give it a "title."  For my first friends wedding, her sister was the MOH and then she asked us to give a speech together as well, so I may just end up having all 3 of them do the MOH toast together.  Glad to know I'm not the only one with this dilemna!

You have a big bridal party, so having the 3 MOH's wouldn't look odd-- just divide up their responsibilities so they all feel important.
