Flameless candles and paper lanterns

We have decided we want to have blue and brown paper laterns hung from the beams in our reception space.  I want them lit up after dark but I cant string cords across the ceiling of the venue without it looking blah.  For any ladies that have used those battery operated flameless candles do you think one in each lantern would light them up enough to give a little glow?  Do you have any other suggestions.

Are these like the little battery operated tea lights?  We have some of those.  You might want two in each one.

Yes Julie I am looking into the battery operated tea lights.  2 in each might be a good idea I dont need them to be really lit up but to have a nice glow.

I'd say go with two as well They might need a buddy to help shine through the bag

ETA: Is there any way you can trial run it to see if one or two would be better?

Hmm... I don't know. How dark will it be in the room?

The tea lights are not very bright at all... it would take 2 I think.  Unless they make LED ones?  Those might be brighter.

I'm going to use LED Throwies.  The supplies came out super cheap on Ebay and it takes 2 to light them enough (about 30 cents to make).  It's super easy....

I am also using the paper lantern look to decorate for my tent reception. I just bought paper lanterns and ordered the tea lights and you will definitely need two tea lights per lantern. How do you plan on hanging the lanterns? I heard stringing fishing line from the poles works, but do you have another strategy?

I talked with the coordinator at our venue and she said to bring in the lanterns and we would test out the tealights they had but she thought two should work.  We are using fishing line and our venue has white beams that they will be hanging from.

We are doing an outdoor tent wedding, so I need a very tall ladder to hang the lanterns high. I was going to have the tent company do it for us, but they are charging $1,000.00 to hang fifty lanterns. It may be putting more work on us, but saving a grand would really help us out. Hopefully, doing it ourselves will work out:)
