Bridesmaid Dress Alterations

I'm getting married in a little less than a month and while having a conversation with one of my bridesmaids, she mentioned that she is not having any alterations done to her dress.  She said, "I'm sure it will be fine."

I know from the day we went shopping that the dress needs to be hemmed for sure.  She said she would try it on again, but she is sure that it will be fine.

She is getting married in July, and I know money is tight for her as it is for me too.  But I don't know how to bring up that I would feel better if she had someone look at it, rather than just assuming.

How do I bring this up without being crazy bride and being sensitive to extra expenses?

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Alterations

  • 1) You could pay for the alterations
    2)  You could hem it yourself - most hems aren't difficult at all
    3) Find somebody else with a machine to hem it for you if you don't want to do it by hand.

I do agree that she needs to at least try it on with her shoes - she may be thinking that with shoes it will fit.

  • By the way you should take your real name off of your profile - people can find you.

  • Did you see it w the shoes she is planning to wear? Im inclined to tell you not to worry. I'm sure she doesn't want to be tripping over her own dress. Some things are worth worrying over, this probably isnt one.
