Ordering BM dresses

I am sure people have asked in the past and I am sure it is somewhere on TK but when I google it gives me a lot of different answers.

So when should the BMs order their dresses?

aboutweddings.com says 8-12 months ahead, which is the same as your dress. Let me look it up on here. Hold on.

I think it depends where you are ordering from. DB will make you hurry up and order them by scaring you into thinking they won't be in in time. All my BM's dresses came in within three weeks of ordering them from there. When I was in a friend's wedding, she went through a local bridal store and those took three months to get in.

I would probably not do much more than 5-6 months out. This allows time for them to ship (haven't heard of it taking any longer than 3 months for a BM dress), and get alterations if needed.

We found some we liked at Macy's last month, so my girls went ahead and bought them.

Depends on who you're ordering from.  Ask the salon where you're planning on ordering.  We used JaysBridal.com and they said about 3-4 months for Dessy dresses.
