Moms and Maids

what do you call....

I have a bridal party member who is married. How would I approach listing her on my website/programs? Would she still be called a bridesmaid, is that okay?

Totally off topic, but ladies have the toughest time. Guys are called groomsmen no matter what, are a Mr. no matter what. Oh how the days of owning women still show up in today's society. And a pain in my butt. haha

  • One of my BMs is married, and I never even thought about this until now. The only thing along these lines I have seen is Matron of Honor versus Maid of Honor, so I think you're fine. I have never seen "bridesmatron" before and think that sounds funny, but whatever.

  • That is a good point I agree that there is only a differences between a maid and matron. I got married in April and my MOH got married in May and i was Matron of honor.

  • She is called a bridesmaid whether she is married or not.

  • That's what I thought. Thanks ladies! I just thought there was something I was missing since for the MOH position they are called two different things. Good to know!

I'm having two maids of honor. They are both married, but I refuse to call them matrons of honor. I think it just makes them sound so old and, well, matronly. lol

<div>Same with me! My MOH is 23 and vibrant and matron is so unlike her! Maid of honor is just fine :)</div>
