Moms and Maids

Shoes

I need to know which would look better... My bridesmaids all have shorter dresses to their knees. For the shoe - since it is a shorter dress and you will see their shoes - do I have them wear all the same style or shoe or do I just say they can wear whatever shoe they want, but if they are at least black?

I'm torn and not sure as to what would look better!

IMO, I'd just have them pick out their own black shoes. You can make some requests, like "no sparkle" or "sparkle is a must" or whatever. For me, my BMs live very far apart and they're wearing different dresses (all long and the same color, though), so shoes were no big deal - they just need to wear silver. I don't think anyone's really gonna notice BMs shoes either way, so I would just go with whatever is the easiest to plan for you. It will look great either way.

I vote just ask them to wear black shoes & let them pick.  I have BMs wearing short dresses that are all different but same color (I let them pick) & then I asked them to all wear silver shoes.  3 out of the 4 already had silver shoes so this worked out.  Just a personal experience but the more you let them do the less you have to stress ;)

YES! And the happier they will be b/c they can't complain about price or style. No drama.

definitely just give them a color - everyones feet are different, so picking a style is very tricky (I, for example, can't wear sling-backs for the life of me, I apparently don't have enough of a heel).

I asked my girls to get purple shoes; sent them a link of an example, for color reference only.  They all got different shoes (one even borrowed a pair of mine) and I think they looked great :-)

I agree with just specifying a color, it's so much easier and really, not many people will notice (or care) if they are different styles.

Yes, have them pick their own shoe in whatever color you like. Since they have to purchase the shoes, they will want something that is comfortable, looks good to them, and that they can wear again. It is easy on you and makes them all happy. Unless they are army boots or hooker shoes, nobody will notice that much what the BMs have on their feet.
