I followed all the rules to a tee in regards to the invitations. So what do I do now  3of the 5 RSVP cards that I have gotten back have included their children.  HELP

Depending on who's side it is on, you (or your FI) call them up and say "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, although we would love to see Little Susie, our budget is very tight and are not having children." 

You might get some snarky people who think their children must be brought to every event and try to argue with you about it, but stick to your guns and say, "We totally understand if you are unable to make it. You will be missed."
