MOH age?

I haven't officially asked anyone yet, but I am considering having one of my sisters as my MOH. She would only be about 16 at the time of our wedding. Would she be able to sign the marriage certificate or would one of my older friends need to do it instead?

I love that you want your sister to be your MOH!

It doesn't matter that she's 16.  Ask when you get the license if you need two witnesses to sign it and how old they need to be.  If they have to be over 18, just have your mom or another guest sign the license for her.

Definitely make her your MOH, though!

I think it will be fine.

One thing I might add is if you want her to do a speech (my sister asked me to do one at 18) you/your family might want to see if she needs help. My speech was terrible b/c I had no idea what I was doing. This may or may not be relevent to you.

If you want her to be your MOH, do it! I think that most states require the person signing the register to be of age, but that can be anyone that witnesses your marriage.

This may not even matter - you may not need witnesses to sign your marriage license, depending on what state you're getting married in. For example, in Massachusetts, only the officiant needs to sign the license.

In any case, definitely choose your sister as your MOH if that's what you want.

Her signature on the license definitely wouldn't have been the deciding factor as to whether or not I chose her, but I just thought it would be good to know. Thanks for all the advice!

I had not really even considered the speech before, so thanks for those tips as well! We still have quite a bit of time before we have to decide anything so we'll have to wait and see how she feels about it.
