Texas-Dallas and Ft. Worth

Venue Help

I am trying to find a place in the DFW area (pref. closer to FW) that I can have my ceremony and reception in one or at least a short drive. However, my mother and mother-in-law both have decided to add to the guest list putting it over 300.  Where is a pretty and not expensive place?  Any ideas?

If you could get it down to 250 the YWCA.  The T&P Station is another--their absolute max is 300.  Both of these are lovely and budget friendly.

Others that say 300 but not sure if that is correct:
    Artspace 111
    809 at Vickery
    Victory Arts Center
    Golf Club at Fossil Creek
    Stockyards Station

A great budget friendly Dallas venue that serves larger weddings is the Addison Event Center.
  • Are your mother and mother-in-law paying for the wedding? If not you might have to ask them to cut their list down and give them some paramaters to stay within. A 300+ wedding is going to be expensive in my opinion, or at least hard to coordinate. But, I'm a proponant of smaller weddings under 150 as they just feel more intimate to me.
  • We invited 350 guests (had about 250 attendance) and had our reception at Cityplace Tower in the loft.  I know it's not Ft. Worth, but you get an amazing view of the Dallas skyline and the food was INCREDIBLE.  It's also a very beautiful space, so we got away with pretty minimal decorating (they also have three "included" table decorations, which we did not use). Budget-wise, they have a $10K F&B minimum for the loft, but we were able to get a TON of food with that price.

The YWCA in Fort Worth is beautiful (I'm biased -- I had my reception there!), but their max seating is only 175, so that would not work for OP. Even standing-room-only, the capacity is only 200.

You might also look into Fort Worth Community Arts Center -- maybe if you rented all the galleries, that would allow 300. I toured Artspace 111, 809 at Vickery, and Stockyards Station and loved all of them. SS has a room that fits 800, if I'm remembering correctly! All were budget-friendly venues.

Oh yeah, it says 250 is for standing reception.  That wouldn't be so great!
  • Thanks everybody for your help.  We booked our place and finally narrowed down the guest list.  Only 307...so still over 300 but not 320+.  Any brides looking for a beautiful garden ceremony, reception place check out Los Vaqueros in the stockyards.  Cheap and beautiful.
