Hey ladies! I'm a KC (kansas city) bride - originally from Texas. My brother got married at The Cotton Mill Memorial Day weekend. Leslie Spurlock was his photographer and they just rave and rave about her. Unfortunately, I've been having difficulty finding photographers in KC that I can even compare to her work, uniqueness and quality. Have any of you brides used her? The package she offered is over my budget, but I already feel like I trust her and know she'd capture everything I would want any other photographer to. Any tips?? Thanks!

    I've never heard of her but her reviews on Wedding Wire are great.  Have you tried talking to her about the cost?  I was afraid my photographer was out of my budget too but she was able to craft a package that was just what we needed.  Having someone you are comfortable with is so important too, I think.  Good luck!

    We are meeting with Leslie on Friday afternoon.  I think she is a little out of our budget too, but we still want to meet with her to get a specific package price and talk to her to find out how we get along.  I'll post on here how it went. :)

    Leslie is my wedding photographer!!!  I loved the work she did (from weddings of various friends and hearing them rave about her)and she was so sweet when I met her.  My fiance and I took our engagment pics with Leslie and her 2nd photographer this summer at the Arboretum and I am so in love with all the pics she took!  I can't say enough nice things about her.  Also, I was able to get a very nice discount from her since my fiance is in the military and she happened to be running a special for Memorial Day,  which I didn't even know of until she told me so!

    When I met with her this summer, Leslie told me she was getting ready to increase her prices.  But this is what it was:

    Package 1: engagement pics, bridal pics, an 16x20 canvas print, 1 wedding day photographer (her) for 8 hours
    Package 2: everything from above, but 2 photographers on the wedding day (Leslie & Todd, her 2nd photographer that shoots weddings with her)

    If you want to think about cutting out E-pics, or bridals/canvas, you may be able to get the package down to what you want--that is what I did by not doing bridals.

    Stephie and Sara - I have no doubt in my mind how fabulous Leslie is after "working" with her as a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding. I love her work, but I'm just not thrilled about the cost.

    Michelle - I've contacted Leslie and filled her in on all the fun details I'm planning for my big day. My brother and his wife had a great advantage b/c they could afford anything they wanted. I would definitely have to take a nice loan to have the beautiful Leslie to come to KC. She shared with me her "Sale" price of $3200 (ps for Sara - awesome deal!!) and said I could get engagement, 8 hours, two photogs, all edited images on DVD's and print rights for $4,000. That also includes travel. Since I'm originally from Texas and will definitely be going there before my December wedding, she has also said we could have some photos taken there. My FI would flip if he knew I was even considering doing this. I just asked him to trust me and so far I'm having things my way. We'll see...

    I have heard she is good and love her work. If that is a little out of your price range try Blackerby Photography. They are based in Austin but also travel to DFW. I think I even saw a wedding that they shot on their website. 

    Here are a few others I have heard or a little lower and easier on the budget as well.
