Thank you!  Among other things, I am a volunteer for CASA...Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children.  We are advocates for abused and neglected children in the family court system.  I will share what I wish for everyone on Mother's Day:

Loving and protecting a child is a lifelong job...and is a privilege not a right.
If you are an awesome mom because you were raised by one...you are blessed.
If you are an awesome mom in spite of how you were raised...blessings to you.

Yes it is! Thank you!  The 8 year old made me a card.  On the back, she drew her artistic version of downtown Minneapolis on our wedding day.  The limo, Target Field (game going on at the time), the IDS Tower... complete with people in the window and arrows telling who the stick people were.  It was great.  Her message:

Dear J,
I am so glad you are my step mom.  I was excited when you got maried.  I was crying a little bit.  It was beautiful.  I was happy you let me stay up until 11.  But I knew that I was not supost too.  You always look pretty.  And I always love you.  Happy Mother's Day!!!

Happy belated Mother's Day!

I spent a lovely even with my mum playing backgammon while sipping wine, and it was great!
