I understand you're hurt, but it's just the rehearsal they are missing? That is not that big of a deal.  What matters is that they'll be there for the wedding.

I too agree that their attendance at the actual wedding is more important than the rehearsal. That's not to say you can't be hurt or upset though. It's clear that there's a lot more to the problem than not attending the rehearsal, and your sister needs a reality check.

You were hurt by your sister, and instead of talking to her about it, you told your Mom.  Can you see it from her point of view?

I'm sorry you're disappointed about the rehearsal, but as pp's have said, she'll be there for your wedding.  Sounds like she's coming from a distance, if she has to fly in.

You might want to think about trying to mend fences with your sister.  That way you'll be able to enjoy your wedding without added stress.

OP said that "they" won't be there, as in both sister and mother.  OP's mother apparently pushed for some kind of response from OP about the fact that they won't be there for the rehearsal, which is when OP said she was upset.  It wasn't about talking about the sister behind her back.

That said, I agree with the others that while I understand why you're disappointed, it's really not the end of the world (in the sense that people miss the rehearsal all the time and can still figure out what to do during the ceremony) and the most important thing is that they'll be there for your actual wedding.

Honey i can't say it enough, weddings are stressful times for everyone involved! You, your FI, and your guests! My MOH cannot make my rehersal...thats scary...but i know she wants to be there...but financially she just cant. It does hurt and throws you offbeat for a second..i agree completely. At the end of the day, they are doing what they can and you are still getting married!! The I DOS are the most important thing...we tend to get all worried and stressed over the small stuff...everyone does....and do not regret asking for advice...we all have or are there....it's very easy to be hurt and freak at this time in your life....after taking a breather, step back and ask yourself this....what if i was in her situation? This may help...good luck to you and i wish you happiness!
