I live in Texas and we are having our wedding in upstate New York, where we are from. A couple weekends ago I was in NY for my bridal shower, finalizing plans, and for my trial hair run. The woman who did my hair did my hair growing up and has done my hair for proms and when I have been a bridemaid in a couple weddings. I was always happy with what she did so I decided I should have her do my hair for my wedding. I gave her a few pictures of what I wanted and let her get to work.
It wasn't so good. The back looked lovely but the front wasn't anything like I wanted and nothing like the pictures I gave her! My mom, sister, and two bridesmaids that were with me even told me that it was not flattering at all and looked like something I could do on myself. I told her I liked the back but didn't like the front and explained to her what I was looking for (again). She looked confused and said she wasn't sure how she was going to pull that off but she will likely figure it out on the wedding day. It didn't look over complicated in the pictures and obviously there is some way to do it because I had several pictures of it. So she didn't even offer to redo it then and there. I was a little shocked. Now I am worried about the day of. I can't have another trial run because I won't be back in NY until the wedding in a few weeks! I am so worried that it will not turn out well and I can only have her redo it so many times because she is also doing a few bridesmaids hair. I am thinking of picking something even easier to do although it is exactly what I want. The original isn't complicated and I have seen pictures of it all over the knot. It is a low updo with my hair parted in the middle and a small braid going down one side of the part to add texture. That's it. Nothing more than that.
What do I do if it is bad even after redo's and I run out of time?? I'm super laid back about my wedding and stress about nothing but this is the only thing I am worried about. Do I pick something else that is easy or do I take a chance at letting her do my original hair style?
